Double visit to Thessaloniki and Prague book fairs

Posted 28/5/2018

In the excellent company of my publishers Nektarios Lampropoulos and Maria Christou, I met many Greek authors and gave, as part of the official program of the Thessaloniki Book Fair, a public interview to present my novels in the Babel auditorium; it was hosted by journalist Natasha Holivatou. I also gave an interview for a documentary film on Thessaloniki Book Fair 2018 and another to Anastasia Koraki, editor-in-chief of the magazine Contact +. We then traveled to Athens where I participated in a presentation evening of the Greek translations of my novels at Café Mylos, in Syntagma.

For the second part of my trip, I flew to Czech Republic where I participated in the Prague World of Books with my publisher Martina Masinova and her nice colleagues. First activity in the official program of the Fair: a public discussion with the French author David Foenkinos, hosted by Jovanka Šotolová, in the Great Hall of Lapidárium Národního Muzea. I then gave radio interviews to the Czech National Radio (journalist: Katerina Svatkova) and to Radio-Prague (journalist: Vaclav Richter). 2nd activity in the official program: participation in a public discussion with a group of Czech authors on the occasion of the launch of the bookO Psani… Chci Vedet vic! on contemporary Czech literature, a book in which I appear exceptionally as an author translated into Czech. Host: Markéta Docekalova

For the pleasure of senses, I ended this stay in Prague with an opera. It was Sternenhoch, a delightfully disturbing expressionist show. Will I return to Prague for the launch of the Czech version of The Postman’s Fiancée in November? I would love to.
